Dragon Dive/Swim for the Cure

For the first time, our Swim/Dive team will be swimming and diving to help support breast cancer research by raising money through a “Pink Out” meet. This year we would like to make a difference with fund raising. Each and every one of us has known and/or loved a family member or friend who has battled breast cancer.  Just within our teachers, coaches, and other staff employers, with grace and courage, they are facing this challenge.

As young men and women athletes, our students would like to invite everyone to attend this meet on December 2, 2010.

Welcome Back from Thanksgiving

After seeing so many fans at Cowboys Stadium last week I'm absolutely positive everyone has returned from a wonderful break.

Please remember as we return we are in the last six weeks for this semester and we encourage everyone to work with our faculty for the most success for our students.

Congratulations Abound at CHS

While we are headed toward a Fall break next week I wanted to point out some amazing accomplishments recently for CHS/CSHS:

Jennifer Cruze was recognized last night as the DFW Werner Schulz award winner for Outstanding High School Chemistry and was recently named the Southwest Werner Schulz winner to be recognized in New Orleans in December.

Mandarin students were recognized as the group award winner for the Cheng & Tsui Superstar Karaoke contest.  Our students were able to beat out several college entries for this award.

Volleyball completed the season with a record number of wins and advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals where they faced a tough Marcus squad in a 5 game battle.

Football is still "Protecting the Tradition" and plays this Saturday at Cowboys Stadium at 2:00 PM.  We hope to see our community turn out for this battle against Colleyville Heritage.

Everyone at CHS is proud of our students and their amazing accomplishments.

Academy Graduate to Answer Questions

CHS is very excited about a special visitor who will be at our high school next week. Lt. Kris Loewecke (son of our own Mrs. Loewecke, teacher at CHS) will be at CHS during lunches. Lt. Lowecke is a recent graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and will be available to talk to students who may be interested in learning about the application and admissions process at our nation’s military academies.

Tuesday, November 9 – Lt. Lowecke will be at Carroll High School during each of the three lunch periods. He will be in the cafeteria; we welcome students to visit with Lt. Lowecke during their lunch period.

Lt. Lowecke will bring information about a timeline for the application/admissions process. He has a wealth of knowledge about this process and we truly appreciate his coming!

If you have questions, please contact the Guidance Office at CHS at 817.949.5620.
