TAKS Testing 2011

Please remember tomorrow is our first day of 10th grade TAKS testing for Math. We have a unique situation on this campus because 9th graders do not test tomorrow. If you have a 9th grader, they can arrive as late as 11:55 AM on Tuesday. If a 9th grader arrives at their usual reporting time, your child will have the opportunity to study or read in the cafeteria if he/she needs to arrive prior to the 11:55 reporting time. Busses will run on their regular schedule and four hours later for the late arrival.

Good luck to all of our Sophomores on this math TAKS test.

Dragon Soccer...State Champions

Congratulations to our most recent state champion, Dragon soccer. The boys completed the tournament Saturday night in Georgetown defeating Round Rock McNeil 2-0. The boys were amazing and maintained confidence all night. Once again another great reason to be a DRAGON!

2010-2011 Teacher of the Year

The CHS staff nominated individuals to be considered for this honor by writing a brief discription of why each teacher is so deserving of this honor. Based off of these nominations the following teachers were considered:

Joe Barton, Social Studies Teacher and Coach
Lyndee Hayes, French Teacher and Department Chair
Karen Otto, English Teacher and Department Chair
Kathy Prado, Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair
Donna Rafferty, Social Studies Teacher

The staff had the opportunity to vote for the teacher of their choice earlier this week and identified Mrs. Kathy Prado to represent CHS this year. We would like to congratulate Mrs. Prado on this honor and thank her for her dedication to the community and most importantly to all of our students. She pushes for excellence every day and this is our opportunity to provide her acknowledgement for her excellence.
