The CHS staff nominated individuals to be considered for this honor by writing a brief discription of why each teacher is so deserving of this honor. Based off of these nominations the following teachers were considered:

Danita Barton, ASL Teacher
Dorothy Cassetta, Social Studies Teacher
Jill Clay, Chemistry Teacher
Yuhsin Lee, Mandarin Chinese Teacher
Amy McNay, Special Education Teacher
Karen Otto, English Teacher and Department Chair
Brett Pollock, Social Studies Teacher

The staff had the opportunity to vote for the teacher of their choice and identified Mrs. Danita Barton to represent CHS this year. We would like to congratulate Mrs. Barton on this honor and thank her for her dedication to the community and most importantly to all of our students. She pushes for excellence every day and this is our opportunity to provide her acknowledgement for her excellence.

EOC English Days 1 & 2 Over

CHS would like to thank our amazing Freshmen for their great job during this new round of statewide testing. Your work was amazing and your dedication was evident in every room we entered.

Thank you to our parents for getting our Freshmen here on time, I believe in 2 days we had 4 late students. Students...this means you can be here on time everyday with this effort.

Finally thank you to our ELA teachers for your hard work, your dedication toward preparing for the new test was seen by all. Our kids haven't mentioned anything but being prepared.

Dragon Hockey Advances

The Southlake Carroll hockey team advances to the Varsity Silver City Championship after defeating Midlothian in a shootout on March 8. The Dragons meet Keller at 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 21 at the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Euless.

Keller draws from four high schools so they have great attendance at every game. We need our fans to show up, wear green, bring noise and support your Dragons! Good luck to all of our students as they show their Dragon fight.

TAKS Testing Day 1

Please remember tomorrow is our first day of 10th grade TAKS testing for English Language Arts.

We have a unique situation on this campus because 9th graders do not test tomorrow. If you have a 9th grader, they can arrive as late as 12:30 PM on Wednesday. If a 9th grader arrives at their usual reporting time, he/she will have the opportunity to study or read in the cafeteria. Busses will run on their regular schedule and four and a half hours later for the late arrival.

CHS will maintain a schedule after testing with all four classes meeting during the last two hours with the exception of no shuttle busses running. We will not release a student during testing for appointments and encourage all students to be here the rest of the day for all classes. If you have questions please feel free to contact CHS.
